Noemi and Ramon graciously opened up their home today to Calgary media to show the accessibility improvements made by Hearts and Hammers, and to talk about how life changing those improvements are.
Global TV and CBC Television interviewed Noemi for the local news tonight, while Shaw TV did a mini documentary featuring Shiva Jahanshah interviewing Noemi, Dave Bonk (Hearts and Hammers founder) and John Casuga (Hearts and Hammers director). The documentary will be broadcast ready in about 2 weeks, and will be on YouTube after it airs.
Noemi mentions how overwhelmed she is for everything Hearts and Hammers did for them, and how much easier it is for them with their daily routines involving Ramon’s care.
During separate interviews with the reporters, she was constantly overcome with emotion and gratitude while expressing how much the renovations have improved their lives. For more than five years, Noemi has endured the hardship of moving Ramon around in the house and also out for his medical appointments, while keeping a positive attitude all this time. This validates the need for an organization like Hearts and Hammers to help mobility challenged individuals renovate their homes to make their lives a bit easier. The Hearts and Hammers team all agree that there couldn’t be more deserving individuals than the Ramirez family for a home makeover.
Big thanks go out to Global TV, CBC Television and Shaw TV for spreading the word about Hearts and Hammers.
This post will be updated with the YouTube link to the Ramirez mini documentary with Shaw TV reporter Shiva Jahanshah when it becomes available.
