The renovation project to help the Howard family has begun, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, the generous financial and material support of our sponsors and trade partners, and of course from the Howards themselves.
Its hard to believe that it was just a few short months ago in August that Peter and Debbie Howard were selected to be the first renovation project for Hearts and Hammers.
Back in August when H&H board members met with Peter, he said that the renovation project was not only essential to re-uniting him with Debbie, but was also a “wonderful step forward for the community.” It was with that goal in mind that the amazing H&H volunteers pushed to do everything they could to make this renovation reality.
On Monday, Oct. 28, members of the H&H board met at the Howard home to help start the packing process. Throughout the week, more board members and their families joined in the packing efforts. Peter and Debbie found their own way to give back to the community by donating a large number of books from their extensive collection.
Although it took a great deal of work, the Howard home is now prepared for the next phase of the renovation project.
